Enrollment Guideline for International Students 2026 of Zaozhuang University (UZZ)

1、UNIVERSITY PROFILE

（1）Overview of Zaozhuang City

Known as “Jiangbei Water Town and Canal Ancient City”, Zaozhuang City is located in southern Shandong Province, bordering Linyi in the east, Weishan in the west, Xuzhou in the south and Zoucheng in the north, with a total area of 4564 square kilometers and a resident population of around 3.805 million(2024). Its administration range covers Xuecheng District, Shizhong District, Yicheng District, Shanting District, Tai’erzhuang District and Tengzhou City. Since ancient times, Zaozhuang has been an important town where merchants gather and a hub of north-south transportation. The city is abundant in culture and tourism resources with 7,300 years of ancestor culture, 4,300 years of city-state culture, 2,700 years of canal culture and 143 years of industrial culture. The rich cultural heritage of Zaozhuang gave birth to historical celebrities such as Mozi, the sage of Chinese Science, Xi Zhong, the inventor of carriages, Meng Changjun, the celebrity known for recruiting talents.The first joint-stock coal company in modern Chinese history, Zhongxing Coal Company, and China’s first stock were born here. In the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the renowned Tai’erzhuang War, an arduous victory that impressed the world, and the well-known railway guerrilla have both left a glorious page on this land.

（2）UNIVERSITY PROFILE

Zaozhuang University is a public full-time undergraduate university in Shandong Province. The university was formerly known as Zaozhuang Teacher Training School, established in 1971. In 1984, Zaozhuang Normal College was established with the approval of the Shandong Provincial People’s Government. In 2004, it was upgraded to Zaozhuang University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. In 2024, it was approved as a master’s degree granting university.

The university currently has two campuses, Shizhong and Xuecheng. It covers a total area of 194.2 hectares, with the school building area of nearly 800 thousand square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 1.45 billion yuan. Among 22 experimental teaching centers, the Computer Experimental Teaching Center, the Biology Experimental Center, Food and Pharmaceutical Experimental Teaching Center, Building Industrialization Virtual Simulation Teaching Center are demonstration centers for experimental teaching in higher education institutions in Shandong Province. A total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment reaches nearly 500 million yuan. The library has a collection of over 5.04 million books of various types.

         There are more than 32 thousand full-time students on campus. Among more than 1700 teaching staff, 96% of them hold doctoral or master degrees. 617 teachers are professors or associate professors; there are over 200 full-time and part-time doctoral and master’s supervisors. The university is composed of 22 teaching colleges (departments), offering 68 undergraduate programs, as well as an integrated, inter-supported and coordinated application-oriented discipline professional system, covering 10 disciplines including literature, science, engineering, management, education, history, economics, law, art, and agriculture. There is currently one national pilot program for comprehensive reform of undergraduate programs, four provincial key disciplines, and disciplines such as Optical Engineering, Education, and Chinese Language and Literature have been awarded the China Three Star Discipline and Regional First Class Discipline by the Alumni Association in 2024. We have established 4 high-level application-oriented professional clusters, 8 provincial-level characteristic programs, 11 provincial-level first-class undergraduate programs, and 8 programs that have passed the second level certification of teacher education programs in Shandong Province. Our university has been approved 20 first-class undergraduate courses and 23 provincial quality courses in Shandong Province.

The university continues to expand external exchanges and promote international exchange and cooperation. We have established cooperation relationships with 84 universities and educational institutions from 20 countries and regions, including Europe, America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania, to carry out projects such as credit recognition, student exchange, international students with academic qualifications, and Sino- foreign cooperative undergraduate education. The university has established 4 overseas teaching practice bases, 4 overseas talent workstations, and established the Mozi Cultural Center at the Sihanouk Port Business School in Cambodia. We have joined the Sino-German Lithium Battery Technology and Industry Alliance and established the Sino-German Joint Laboratory for Crystal Materials. For consecutive years, we have undertaken the “Chinese Bridge” project of the Ministry of Education’s Sino-foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center. The university has launched an “internship+practical training” international student training program with South Africa, recruiting over 600 undergraduates and language foreign students from more than 21 countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Bangladesh, and Pakistan, to study at the university. The university has witnessed steady progress in the scope and depth of its internationalization.

2、ENROLLMENT CATEGORY

（1）Bachelor’s Degree Undergraduate Program

For undergraduate degree programs with a duration of four years, students who successfully complete the program and fulfill all degree requirements will be granted an undergraduate diploma and a bachelor’s degree certificate by Zaozhuang University.

1.Enrollment programs and quotas

①School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation): 20-30 students

②School of City and Architecture Engineering (Civil Engineering): 20-30 students

③School of Tourism and Resources Environment (Tourism Management): 20-30 students

④School of Chinese Language and Literature (School of Media and Communication) (Chinese Language and Literature)：International students who have reached HSK-4 or above are eligible to apply (Taught in Chinese).

2.Learning Mode

The standard duration of study is four years. International students will be arranged in separate cohorts with English as the medium of instruction.

For international students admitted to the Chinese Language and Literature program in School of Chinese Language and Literature (School of Media and Communication), they will be integrated into regular classes together with Chinese students.

3.Application Requirements

Healthy, loving Chinese culture, with high school education or above, aged from18-26.

International students applying for undergraduate programs need to have an officially certified high school diploma, transcript, and corresponding Chinese/English translation.

4.Fee

（1）Tuition fee: RMB 6,000 per academic year

（2）Accommodation fee: RMB 2,400 per person per year (Two--person room)

1.Enrollment programs and quotas

School of Chinese Language and Literature (School of Media and Communication) (Chinese Language and Literature): 20-30 students

2.Learning Mode

The program lasts for six months or one year and is taught in both Chinese and English.

3.Application Requirements

Foreign nationals aged between 18 and 35, in good health, with a sincere and passionate interest in Chinese culture.

4.Fee

（1）Tuition fee: 

RMB 6,000 per academic year

RMB 3,000 per semester

（2）Accommodation fee: 

RMB 2,400 per person per year (Two--person room)

RMB 1,200 per person per semester (Two--person room)

3、Application Guidance

（1）Semester Start Date

Fall Semester: Early September 2026.

The application deadline for the fall semester is June 30th, 2026.

（3） Fee Information

1.Residence permit fee：RMB 400 per year

2.Medical examination fee: RMB 480 per time
